Greater Fort Worth DI believes that students can have fun while learning creative and critical thinking skills.
We sponsor Destination ImagiNation® for students because we believe that Destination ImagiNation is the best program for teaching these important life skills.
Destination ImagiNation® Inc. is an innovative organization that teaches creativity, teamwork and problem solving to students across the U.S. and in more than 30 countries. Destination ImagiNation® is an unconventional team learning experience where student teams all over the world solve mind-bending Challenges. Teams are tested to think on their feet, work as a team, and devise original solutions that satisfy the requirements of the Challenges. Participants gain more than just basic knowledge and skills—they learn to unleash their imaginations and take unique approaches to problem solving.
Teams work together for several months to create their solutions to the Challenges, which can have theatrical, structural, improvisational, scientific or technical focuses. Teams also learn and practice creative quick-thinking skills for the Instant Challenge portion of the program. (view challenges)
Teams then present their Challenge solutions at Regional Tournaments in the spring. Teams compete in one of 5 age levels – Primary, Elementary, Middle, Secondary or University Level. Winning teams at Regional Tournaments advance to the Affiliate Tournament held in April. First and Second Place winners at the Affiliate Tournament advance to the Global Finals tournament held near the end of May at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
